OAKLAND — The search continued Monday for a gunman who shot a woman several times Sunday morning in Oakland’s Uptown district, authorities said.
The condition of the woman, a 23-year-old Fairfield resident, was not available.
The shooting was reported about 4:10 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of 18th Street near Telegraph Avenue.
Authorities said the woman, who works in the area, was walking to her car when she was shot by a man.
The gunman fled before police arrived and the woman was taken to a hospital.
A motive for the shooting has not been released.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
