PACHECO — A 41-year-old Oakland man suspected in a Pacheco killing on Friday, was arrested by BART officers in Concord later Friday night, officials said.
Officers arrested the suspect, Aaron Goode, near the BART Concord Station and booked him into the Contra Costa County jail at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday. He faces a murder charge for killing the 29-year-old victim, who was identified by the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office Saturday as Erick Ousey, of Martinez. Goode was placed on a $1 million bond.
A witness called around 12:12 p.m. and told the dispatcher there was a man covered in blood lying on the sidewalk, said sheriff’s office spokesman Jimmy Lee. The caller requested medical assistance for the man, he said.
Pleasant Hill police arrived and performed CPR, but Lee said Ousey died on the sidewalk.
The sheriff’s office has not said what kind of injuries Ousey suffered but said he was the victim of a homicide.
Although the investigation is ongoing, Lee said it doesn’t appear the suspected murder was a random act. Investigators believe Goode and Ousey knew each other.
