OAKLAND — A man and a woman were shot in downtown Saturday night, police said.
The 43-year-old woman was shot in the leg and the 52-year-old man in the upper body. They were both transported to hospitals and were in stable condition Sunday. Police have not said if they knew each other.
The shooting happened around 7:49 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of 13th Street and Broadway, outside of a Burger King restaurant.
Police said they were standing outside when a man approached them on foot and began shooting at them. The gunman then fled in a car after the shooting. Officers were still trying to determine a motive for the shooting, and no arrest had been made as of Sunday morning.
Broadway was closed to traffic between 12th and 14th streets while police investigated.
