OAKLAND — Two juveniles were wounded in a suspected gang-related shooting Friday night in West Oakland and a man was shot during an attempted robbery Saturday morning in downtown, authorities said.

Two suspects were later arrested in the double shooting, police said.

All three victims were in stable condition Saturday.

The juveniles, a 16-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl, were shot about 10:48 p.m. Friday as they sat in a car parked in the 1000 block of Seventh Street in West Oakland. Police have not said what their relationship was.

Shots were fired at them from outside the vehicle, and they were both wounded, authorities said. The car they were in was also hit by the gunfire. Police believe the shooting was gang-related but did not provide additional details.

Both victims were taken by ambulance to a hospital.

Police were able to develop information that led them to two suspects who were arrested early Saturday in East Oakland. One is a 19-year-old man and the other a 20-year-old man, authorities said. Their names have not been released.

About 1:12 a.m. Saturday a 38-year-old man was shot during an attempted robbery in the 300 block of 13th Street in downtown, authorities said.

The man was confronted on the street by several other men, one of whom tried unsuccessfully to grab a necklace he was wearing. The man started running away and was shot, police said. The suspects fled before police arrived, and the wounded man was taken to a hospital.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money in the robbery-related shooting. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3326 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
