OAKLAND — A man was fatally shot in East Oakland Friday night, police said.
Police said the man was 34 years old, but did not name him pending notification of his family.
The man was shot about 8:07 p.m. Friday in the 9000 block of Olive Street. He died later at a hospital.
Police did not say if the man was shot by someone in a car or someone on the street.
Police have not released a motive for the shooting and have not announced any arrests.
The killing is the 12th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated five homicides.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the killer.
