OAKLAND — A woman was shot while driving in East Oakland Friday evening and a man was wounded in another shooting early Saturday not far from Kaiser Hospital, authorities said.

Both victims were in stable condition.

The 51-year-old woman was shot just before 6 p.m. Friday as she drove in the 6100 block of MacArthur Boulevard. Two other people in the vehicle with her were not hurt.

Authorities said it appears some other people were involved in a shootout on the street and the woman was hit by a stray bullet.  She was able to drive to the Eastmont police substation for help and was taken to a hospital.

The people involved in the shootout fled before police arrived on the scene and there were no signs any of them were injured, authorities said. A motive has not been determined yet for the shootout and no arrests have been made.

The other shooting happened about 1:48 a.m. Saturday in the 4000 block of Howe Street and left a  35-year-old man injured, police said.

The shooting apparently stemmed from a dispute at a residence a few minutes earlier that continued outside where the shooting happened,  authorities said.

A man who did not live at the home is being sought for the shooting, authorities said.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money in each shooting for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.  Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
