OAKLAND — Two homicide victims from earlier this month, one a man fatally shot in East Oakland and the other a man found stabbed to death in West Oakland, have been identified by police.
A man fatally shot outside in the 1400 block of 85th Avenue on Feb. 12 was identified as Charles King Jr., 37, of Oakland.
Police have not determined a motive in the shooting and have not made any arrests.
A man found dead from stab wounds Feb. 9 at a homeless camp in the area of 37th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way was identified as Sean Hector, 52, who lived at another encampment several blocks away, authorities said.
Police have not said where they think the stabbing actually happened, but did say they believe it was drug related. No arrests have been made in the case.
So far this year Oakland police have investigated three homicides in the city. Last year at this time police had investigated 12 homicides in Oakland.
