OAKLAND — Two men, both who wore masks and one armed with a gun, are being sought after they broke into a woman’s home Monday morning in the Hiller Highlands area of the Oakland hills but fled without taking anything or harming her, authorities said Tuesday.

The attempted residential robbery happened about 7:38 a.m. on Grand View Drive.

The woman was able to lock herself inside a room and call police.

Officers responded to the scene and surrounded the house.  Some officers went inside, rescued the woman and searched the house.

The robbers were not in the home, having fled before police arrived.

Detailed descriptions of the robbers were not immediately available.  Police canvassed the area looking for video surveillance and to see if anyone saw the robbers or a vehicle they may have fled in.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.  Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3326 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.

Check back for updates.
