OAKLAND — A 24-year-old man was killed and a woman badly injured Saturday night in a two-car collision in East Oakland, authorities said Sunday.
The name of the man, an Oakland resident, has not been released pending notification of his family. The name of the woman, a 19-year-old Oakland resident, also has not been released.
The collision happened about 9:24 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Hegenberger Road and Hamilton Street.
Authorities said the man was driving a Honda northbound on Hegenberger when he collided with an Infinity the woman was driving eastbound on Hamilton.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman suffered severe injuries but was in stable condition at a hospital, police said.
There were no passengers in either car.
Police said the collision remains under investigation but that alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
