SAN LEANDRO — A man killed Tuesday morning when his minivan crashed into a tree at the Dutton Avenue off-ramp from eastbound Interstate 580 was identified by the coroner’s office Wednesday as Vantrelle Rutherford, 24, of Stockton.
Ruthrford was alone in the minivan when it crashed about 12:20 a.m. Tuesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Oakland CHP office at 510-450-3821.
