OAKLAND — A 28-year-old man who told police he was shot Monday night while standing outside his car in East Oakland was in stable condition Tuesday.
The shooting happened about 7 p.m. in the 2400 block of Fern Street in the Maxwell Park area.
The man told police he was visiting a relative in the area and was standing outside his car when another man began shooting at him. He was wounded in the lower leg.
The man was able to flee the scene before being injured further and got a ride from another person to a hospital, authorities said. Police said the man was not being fully cooperative with officers.
No motive has been determined yet for the attack and no arrests have been made.
