SAN FRANCISCO — A fatal shooting suspect was arrested Saturday afternoon after San Francisco police chased his vehicle to West Oakland, authorities said.
Authorities said the man is suspected of shooting another man who was in a car about 12:44 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Golden Gate Avenue and Hyde Street in the Tenderloin. The victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died Saturday afternoon, police said.
Officers were able to determine the suspect fled in a vehicle which was spotted a short time later with the suspect driving.
San Francisco police chased the car over the Bay Bridge and into West Oakland where it reportedly crashed near the intersection of Mandela Parkway and Peralta Street, and the suspect was arrested. A gun was recovered as well, police said.
Police have not yet released a motive for the shooting or if the suspect and victim knew each other. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
