FREMONT — A 36-year-old Antioch man suspected of secretly videotaping adults and children in the bathroom of a trampoline park has been charged with four criminal counts, according to authorities and court documents.

Richard Charles Rocha is charged with felony possession or control of child pornography and three misdemeanor counts of invading privacy by device.
Police arrested Rocha on May 9, less than a week after an employee at Rockin’ Jump, located in the 39100 block of Farwell Drive, found a hidden camera in the men’s public restroom. Rocha is facing charges of possessing child pornography and three counts of concealing a camera in a bathroom.
The employee found the camera just before 8 p.m. May 3. When officers arrived, they took the camera and the micro SD card that was with it. A subsequent forensic examination on the SD card showed videos of multiple people using the bathroom, including children, police said.
The hidden camera also showed Rocha setting it up, police said. The time stamp on the hidden camera video allowed police to examine surveillance tape from the business that linked Rocha with a white SUV, police said.
Detectives then used the city’s community license plate reader and found a white SUV leaving the area shortly after the camera was set up, police said. They checked the registration on the SUV and found it belonged to Rocha, police said.
Rocha’s photo was similar to the image of the man setting up the hidden camera, police said. Detectives obtained a warrant May 8 and served it at his Antioch residence, where police said they found multiple storage and recording devices.
Among the items detectives found were other secret videos and suspected child pornography, police said.
Rocha is in custody at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin in lieu of $27,500 bail. He is scheduled to return to court June 3 for a pretrial hearing after pleading not guilty.
Detectives believe there may be more victims and asked anyone who used the public men’s room at the park to contact Fremont police’s Crimes Against Persons unit at 510-790-6900. Potential victims or anyone with information also can email Detective Anthony Holguin at Aholguin@fremont.gov.
