OAKLAND — One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Friday night in East Oakland, police said Saturday.
The name of the man killed, who police said was 43, was not released pending notification of his family.
The name of the 32-year-old man who was wounded was not released.
Police did not say where the men lived or what their relationship was.
The shooting was reported about 9:29 p.m. Friday in the 5900 block of MacArthur Boulevard near the Mills College campus.
The two men were apparently outside when someone shot them. One man died at the scene and the other man was taken to a hospital where his condition was not available.
Police did not say if the men were shot by someone in a vehicle or by someone who approached them on foot. The suspect fled before police arrived on the scene.
No motive has been released yet by investigators.
