OAKLAND — A 24-year-old woman suspected of stabbing a man to death in East Oakland on Tuesday has been arrested, police said.

The stabbing happened in the 1200 block of 71st Avenue around 11:42 a.m., apparently during a domestic dispute, police said. Authorities identified the victim Wednesday as 24-year-old Blake Owens, of Oakland.

The woman was arrested at the Bay Fair BART station but was not identified by police, who cited the ongoing investigation.

Medical crews rushed Owens to a hospital after the stabbing, and he died there, police said.

The stabbing is the 63rd homicide investigated by Oakland police this year.

It also was part of a particular deadly day in East Oakland, where one man was shot to death and another injured in another shooting. Late Tuesday, gunshots were fired from a moving vehicle in the 800 block of 71st Avenue, wounding a 51-year-old man in the leg. He was in stable condition at a hospital and expected to survive.

Check back for updates.
