ANTIOCH — A 65-year-old woman in a wheelchair was critically injured Sunday morning after she was struck by a vehicle that did not stop, authorities said.
The collision happened about 3 a.m. Sunday at Lone Tree Way and Davison Drive.
Authorities said the woman, a Discovery Bay resident, was wheeling herself across the street but apparently was not in a crosswalk when she was hit. The impact knocked her out of the chair and she landed in the road, where she was found unconscious.
The driver did not stop to see how the woman was and drove off in the vehicle.
Police were reviewing evidence and video surveillance from the area to try to determine the identity of the driver.
Lone Tree Way was reopened just before 7:30 a.m.
