OAKLAND — Firefighters rescued an elderly woman from a blaze in East Oakland that hospitalized four people early Wednesday, according to the Oakland Fire Department.
Crews were called at 7:24 a.m. to a residence in the 1500 block of E. 19th Street, near 14th Avenue, according to information posted on the department’s Twitter account. The residence is two blocks from from San Antonio Park.
The tweet did not provide information about the age of the woman that crews rescued or where they found her. It also did not provide the gender of the four people injured.
It did say that all four were hospitalized for smoke inhalation.
Oakland Fire officials did not return multiple calls seeking comment.
Red Cross officials also were dispatched to the scene, but fire officials did not immediately confirm reports that seven people, including three children, were displaced from the residence.
