One dead, one wounded in West Oakland shooting

OAKLAND — One man was killed and another wounded in a West Oakland shooting Friday afternoon, authorities said.

Police described the man who died as a 35-year-old Oakland resident.

The injured man, 44, also lives in Oakland. He remains in critical but stable condition at a local hospital.

The shooting happened about 1:31 p.m. Friday in the area of 32nd Street and San Pablo Avenue.

One man died at the scene and the other was taken to a hospital where his condition was not available.

Police have not yet said what led to the shooting or what the motive was. No arrests have been reported.
