EMERYVILLE — Three suspects were arrested and a gun recovered after an attempted armed robbery and vehicle chase Thursday night, police said Friday.

Police would only say the suspects were two men and a woman, but did not give their ages or places of residence.

Police said the suspects tried to rob a man at gunpoint about 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of 40th and Hollis streets, but were unsuccessful.

They fled in an SUV and the man they tried to rob was able to provide a description of the vehicle and partial descriptions of the suspects.

Police spotted the vehicle and began pursuing it. The suspects crashed into a parked car in the area of 35th Street and San Pablo Avenue in Oakland, Sgt. Pablo Rojas said.

One of the suspects fled on foot from the SUV but was quickly apprehended after discarding a gun that was recovered, police said. The other two suspects remained in the vehicle.

The suspects were being treated for non-life threatening injuries suffered in the wreck. They were going to be booked on suspicion of attempted armed robbery, conspiracy to commit a felony, resisting arrest, felony evading police and additional weapons charges.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspects is asked to call police at 510-596-3700.
