OAKLAND — Firefighters freed a person Thursday morning who had been trapped under a train at the MacArthur BART station, officials said.
The person apparently suffered no significant physical injuries but was taken to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation, BART officials said.
Officials have not said if the person was a man or woman or how they came to be under the train. The incident was reported at 9:43 a.m. and the person removed at 9:52 a.m., officials said.
Power to the tracks was cut while firefighters worked to free the person. The station was closed until shortly after 10 a.m.
