OAKLAND — An autopsy has determined a man found dead in a vehicle at a West Oakland homeless camp died from a shooting.
The death last week is now being investigated as a homicide, authorities said Thursday.
The name of the victim, a 41-year-old man, has not yet been released. He is believed to have lived at the homeless camp in the 600 block of Castro Street, where he was found Feb. 16.
There was decomposition to the body and police were waiting for the results of an autopsy to determine how he died.
A motive has not yet been determined and no arrests have been made.
