Shooting in East Oakland leaves man dead

OAKLAND — A 22-year-old man was fatally shot in East Oakland Wednesday night, police said.

The man’s name has not yet been released.

The man was found shot about 10:02 p.m. Wednesday outside in the 2200 block of Seminary Avenue, a mostly residential area. Police said he lived in the area of the shooting. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A motive for the shooting is under investigation. No arrests have been made.

The killing is the 13th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. At this time last year, police had investigated 14 homicides in the city.
