OAKLAND — A 5-year-old girl and a woman were hospitalized  Saturday afternoon after they were struck in the Fruitvale district by a pick-up truck that kept going, police said.

The girl was in stable condition at a hospital.  The condition of the woman, who police believe is related to the girl, was not immediately available.

Police said the girl and the woman were together walking northbound in a crosswalk at 34th Avenue  when they were hit by a pick-up truck that was driving eastbound on International.  The driver of the truck did not stop and was last seen driving going northbound on 36th Avenue.

Police described the truck as a silver 2000s  Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra that had an 8-foot bed. A detailed description of the driver has not been released.

International Boulevard was shut  down while police investigated, including looking for  witnesses and video surveillance.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the driver who fled.  Anyone with information may call police at 510-777-8570 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8570.
