OAKLAND — A 31-year-old man was shot early Friday in downtown Oakland, authorities said.
He was in stable condition at a hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, authorities said.
The shooting happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. Friday in the 1500 block of Alice Street, a mostly residential area.
The man told police he was walking to a friend’s home when he heard gunfire, felt pain in his abdomen and saw he was bleeding. He made it to the friend’s home where police and medical personnel were called.
A man was seen running from the area after the shooting. Police are trying to determine a motive for the shooting and if the wounded man was the intended target. No arrests have been made.
