OAKLAND– A 64-year-old man was stabbed late Thursday night while he was sitting at a bus stop in downtown, authorities said.
The man was initially listed in critical condition with a wound to his abdomen but was later upgraded to stable condition after surgery, authorities said.
The apparently unprovoked attack happened about 11:07 p.m. Thursday while the man sat at a bus stop in the 1100 block of Broadway, authorities said.
The attacker fled the scene before police could respond.
A motive for the attack has not yet been determined and no suspect information was released.
