OAKLAND — A man was killed and a woman wounded in two shootings Tuesday night that happened about 20 minutes apart in different areas of East Oakland, authorities said Wednesday.
The shootings are not related, police said.
The fatal shooting happened about 10:18 p.m. Tuesday in the 4500 block of East 12th Street in the Fruitvale district.
Police said a man was shot and died at the scene. His name was not released but he was believed to be a 22-year-old Oakland resident.
No motive has been released and no arrests made.
About 10 p.m. a woman was shot in the 9000 block of MacArthur Boulevard.
No information about the woman was released. She was taken to a hospital but her condition was not available Wednesday.
Police have not released a motive for the shooting. No arrests have been made.
