OAKLAND — Two men were shot  just over six hours apart Sunday night and early Monday morning in different areas of the city, authorities said.

Both men were in stable condition and police do not believe the shootings are related.

About 12:24 a.m. Monday a 27-year-old man was shot outside near his home in the 3500 block of Dimond Avenue north of  MacArthur Boulevard in the Dimond district.

The man was shot after getting into a confrontation with some other men who fled the scene in a vehicle.

Police don’t have a motive yet for the shooting and have not made any arrests.

Earlier, at about 6 p.m. Sunday, a 40-year-old man showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg, authorities said.

The man told police he had been walking in the 1800 block of Foothill Boulevard outside San Antonio Park in the San Antonio district in East Oakland when he heard a gunshot and saw he had been wounded. He told police he thought he had been shot by someone in a passing vehicle.

The shooter fled and the man walked to a nearby homeless camp where he got a ride to the hospital, authorities said.

A motive for  the shooting has not yet been determined and no arrests have been made.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money in each shooting for information leading to the arrests of the suspects.  Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
