Two men killed, four other people wounded in weekend Oakland shootings

OAKLAND — Two men were killed and four other people were wounded in East Oakland shootings Saturday night and early Sunday, authorities said.

The most recent shooting happened about 2:20 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of International Boulevard.

Police said some people got into an argument on the street, and it escalated into a shooting that left three people hit by gunfire. One of the victims, a man whose name and age have not been released, was pronounced dead at a hospital where he had been driven by some other people.

A woman and man who were also wounded were taken to a hospital, and were expected to recover.

Police have not said what the initial argument was about or if the people who were shot knew each other. No arrests have been made.

International Boulevard in the area of the shooting was shut down for several hours while police investigated. Traffic, including AC Transit service, was diverted.

The other fatal shooting happened about 12:57 a.m. Sunday  in the 9500 block of E Street.

Police said someone started shooting at a group of people who may have been attending a party in the area. One man, whose name and age have not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition. Police have not released a motive in the shooting and have not made any arrests.

Police also said there was a non-fatal shooting Saturday night in East Oakland where a 27-year-old man was shot in the 2500 block of 66th Avenue about 6:24 p.m. He was able to drive himself to a hospital and was in stable condition. Police have not released a motive in the shooting and have not made any arrests.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $20,000 in reward money in the International  Boulevard shooting, up to $15,000 in the E Street shooting and up to $5,000 in the 66th Avenue shooting for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
