OAKLAND — A 52-year-old woman sitting inside her home was wounded by gunfire from outside and a man was shot during an attempted robbery in a pair of shootings just over an hour apart Saturday night and Sunday morning in East Oakland, authorities said.

Both victims were in critical condition Sunday and police said the two shootings are not related.

Authorities said the woman was wounded twice about 10:50 p.m. Saturday inside her home in the 8300 block of A Street, a primarily residential area.

Authorities said someone standing outside deliberately fired numerous shots into the home before fleeing in a vehicle.

Another person inside the home was not injured. A vehicle parked outside was also hit by the gunfire but no other injuries were reported.

Police are still trying to determine a motive for the shooting and who the intended target was. No arrests have been made.

The 28-year-old man was shot about 12:08 a.m. Sunday outside his home in the 8200 block of D Street, authorities said.

Police said the man was approached by another man who pulled a gun and demanded money and other valuables from him.

When the man tried to get away he was shot, police said.

Nothing was taken from him and the suspect fled on foot.

A detailed description of the suspect was not released.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $7,500 in the A Street shooting and up to $5,000 in the D Street shooting for information leading to the arrests of the suspects. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
