OAKLAND — A man suspected of robbing a Chinatown bank on Tuesday did not fare as well Thursday when he failed to get any cash from the same branch and was arrested a short time later, authorities said.

The man’s name was not immediately released.

Police said the man decided to target the Chase Bank branch, 401 Eighth St.,  for a second time at 10:37 a.m. Thursday. He is suspected of robbing the same branch on Tuesday morning getting an undisclosed amount of cash after giving a teller a note.

This time the man got nothing after giving a teller a note demanding money that also said he had a gun, which was not seen, police said.

The man, who was wearing the same red shoes and other clothing as he was Tuesday, fled the bank on foot and was arrested at 11:02 a.m. in the 1400 block of Broadway.

Check back for updates.
