OAKLAND — A 19-year-old man was stabbed and robbed of his cell phone Wednesday night in the Uptown area, authorities said.
The victim, who authorities said was a transient, was in stable condition Thursday at a hospital..
The attack happened about 9:19 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of 17th Street near Broadway.
Police said three men confronted the victim as he was walking and two of them grabbed his arms as the third suspect tried to go through his pockets.
When the victim resisted he was stabbed by one of the men in the torso and the three suspects fled on foot with his cell phone, authorities said.
Detailed descriptions of the robbers were not available.
