WALNUT CREEK — A 60-year-old man was hospitalized with minor injuries Thursday morning after he was hit by a pick-up truck while crossing a street, police said.
The truck driver remained on scene and is cooperating with officers, authorities said.
The man was struck about 5:21 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Ygnacio Valley Road and San Carlos Drive, near the entrance to Heather Farm Park.
Lt. Andy Brown said the pickup truck was going westbound on Ygnacio Valley when it struck the man who was in a marked crosswalk walking toward the park.
The injured man was taken to nearby John Muir Medical Center but his condition was not available.
The police investigation is continuing but there is nothing so far to indicate drugs or alcohol were involved or if there was anything suspicious about what happened, authorities said.
The collision caused delays for the morning commute while police investigated.
