OAKLAND — A 61-year-old man died and a 17-year-old boy and another man were shot in a five-hour period Tuesday night and Wednesday morning in East Oakland, authorities said.
The most recent shooting happened about 12:07 a.m. Wednesday in the 5900 block of East 16th Street.
Officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert found a 61-year-old Oakland man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he died at about 9:41 a.m..
Police have not determined a motive yet for the shooting and have not made any arrests.
About 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, the 17-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man were shot as they sat in a car parked in the 5300 block of Fairfax Avenue by someone who approached the vehicle from outside, authorities said.
The two were able to get their own transportation to a hospital where they were listed in stable condition. Authorities did not say how the two knew each other.
A motive for the shooting has not been released and no arrests have been made.
Police don’t believe at this time that the two shootings are related.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money in the double shooting and up to $10,000 in the East 16th Street shooting for information leading to the arrests of the suspects.
