OAKLAND — A 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were arrested in a Thursday morning robbery of a man’s laptop computer at the Coliseum BART Station, authorities said Friday.

Even though no weapons were used in the robbery, a gun was recovered in a backpack the suspects’  had with them when they were arrested, authorities said.

The robbery was reported about 11:18 a.m. Thursday.  A man was robbed of his laptop at the station by two suspects who ran into a nearby neighborhood.

BART police arrested the suspects and confiscated a backpack that had the stolen laptop and gun inside, BART spokeswoman Anna Duckworth said.

Neither suspect admitted ownership of the backpack, authorities said.

The robbery victim was able to identify the two as the ones who robbed him and police returned the laptop to him.

The adult suspect was identified as Marshaun Farris, of Oakland.  The name of the 17-year-old was not released and police did not know if the two are related or are friends.

Both were arrested on suspicion of robbery,  carrying a concealed firearm and possession of a large capacity ammunition clip.  The juvenile was also arrested on suspicion of being a minor in possession of a concealed firearm.

Farris was being held on $150,000 bail at Santa Rita Jail.  The boy was booked at Alameda County Juvenile Hall.
