HAYWARD — The names of two men shot to death within eight hours last weekend have been released by police, who said the killings — which took place within several miles of each other — are not related.
Police identified Anthony Hunter, 31, as the man fatally shot about 12:39 a.m. Dec. 8 in the 27000 block of Belvedere Court. Police have not said where Hunter lived. A motive has not been released in the killing and no arrests have been announced.
A man shot about 4:45 p.m. Dec. 7 in the area of Santa Clara Way and Yolo Street was identified as John Creech Jr., 20. Police have not said where he lived. A motive for the killing has not been released and no arrests have been announced.
The two killings are the fourth and fifth homicides investigated by Hayward police this year.
