ORINDA — A man was carjacked at gunpoint Sunday morning in the driveway of his home of his pick-up truck by two suspects who drove to the residence in a stolen car they had eluded the California Highway Patrol in, authorities said.
Authorities said Monday the suspects, a man and woman, were still at large and the vehicle had not been recovered.
The armed carjacking happened at 10:10 a.m. Sunday at a residence in the 400 block of Camino Sorante near the Orinda County Club.
The suspects in a Silver Audi RS5 that had been reportedly stolen earlier this month confronted the resident in the driveway and took his Toyota Tacoma at gunpoint, authorities said.
The suspects had led CHP officers on a pursuit just prior to the carjacking, authorities said. It was not immediately known where the Audi had been stolen from.
Orinda police and the CHP searched the area for the Toyota and the suspects but could not find either. The Toyota is black and has a California license plate of 8R01259. Authorities did not provide detailed descriptions of the suspects.
Anyone with information about the suspects or the Toyota is asked to call Orinda police at 925-646-2441.
