OAKLAND — A 40-year-old man was stabbed multiple times and robbed Wednesday night inside his tent at a homeless camp, authorities said.
The man was in stable condition Thursday.
The attack happened about 9:17 p.m. Wednesday inside the man’s tent, which is part of a homeless encampment in the 500 block of Webster Street underneath Interstate 880.
Police said two men entered the victim’s tent, stabbed him more than once and fled with cash and a cellphone.
One of the robbers was described as black, 30 to 39 years old, about 6 feet and 240 pounds with short dreadlocks, a dark complexion and a mustache. He wore a red and white striped shirt. The other suspect is also black, 30 to 39 years old, about 6 feet and 170 pounds with short hair and a dark complexion.
Police said it is not yet known if the suspects may have also lived at the camp.
