OAKLAND — Two bank branches in downtown Oakland were robbed Wednesday, authorities said.
Around 9:50 a.m., officers responded to the Wells Fargo branch at 1225 Broadway.
Police said a man gave a teller a note demanding money and fled from the bank with the loot. No weapon was seen.
The robber was described, as black, between 25 and 30 years of age, about 5 feet 8 and between 160 and 170 pounds. He wore a white baseball cap, white jacket and white pants with red striping.
He was last seen running northbound on Broadway.
Around 2:35 p.m., police dispatchers learned of a robbery at the Citibank branch at 8th and Franklin streets.
Officers arrived moments later, but learned a suspect had already fled. No suspect description was immediately available.
