OAKLAND — A 32-year-old man fatally shot Aug. 5 in West Oakland has been identified by police as Brian Johnson.
Johnson, of Oakland, died and a 55-year-old woman he knew was wounded in the shooting, which happened about 11:23 p.m. Aug. 5 in the 1100 block of 24th Street, at Chestnut Street.
The 55-year-old woman was later released from a hospital.
Police said the two were part of a group of people hanging out when Johnson got into an argument with another man who ended up pulling out a gun and opening fire.
What the argument was about still not been determined and the suspect has not been arrested.
