PITTSBURG — A vehicle pursuit resulted in the arrests of two suspects in the Thursday shooting of a woman, police said Friday.

Police did not say name the suspects or said if they were men or women.

The woman was shot in the lower torso about 3:30 p.m. Thursday at a house in the 200 block of Warren Way. The woman, whose age and name were not released, was taken to a hospital where she was in stable condition.

Some vehicles in the front of the house were also hit by gunfire, but no one else was reported injured.

Police determined the suspects fled in a dark-colored sedan heading toward Bay Point and provided the information to other law enforcement agencies. The car was spotted by Contra Costa County sheriff’s deputies a short time later going westbound on Willow Pass Road. Deputies pursued it for several minutes in Bay Point before it finally stopped, police said.

The driver refused to get out of the car and a police canine was used to help get both people out of the vehicle, police said.

A gun used in the shooting was recovered, police said.  Police have not determined a motive yet for the shooting and have not said if the suspects knew the woman who was shot.

Check back for updates.
