OAKLAND — A 31-year-old man was shot multiple times Tuesday morning in the Temescal district of North Oakland, authorities said.
The man’s condition was not immediately available.
The shooting, which activated a gunshot detection system alert, happened about 3:19 a.m. Tuesday outside in the 4900 block of Shattuck Avenue, authorities said.
Initial reports from police were that the man was shot after getting into a dispute with some other people. One of those persons pulled a gun and shot the man multiple times. Police have not yet said what the dispute was about or if the man shot knew the other people.
The wounded man was transported from the scene by an ambulance to a hospital.
The shooter and the others fled before police got to the scene. No suspect information has been released.
