OAKLAND — Two people were injured in a fire Wednesday at a Chinatown triplex, authorities said.
The fire at a home converted into three living units in the 600 block of Jackson Street was reported at 11:59 a.m. Firefighters brought the flames under control in about 20 minutes.
Two female residents had to be hospitalized for smoke inhalation. Red Cross is assisting the pair and a third resident with temporary shelter.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and officials did not yet know the estimate of the damage.
