Shooting in East Oakland sends man to hospital

OAKLAND – A 28-year-old man was shot multiple times Monday afternoon in East Oakland, police said.

The man, an Oakland resident, was in stable condition at a hospital, authorities said.

The shooting happened about 4:15 p.m. Monday in the 6400 block of Foothill Boulevard.

Police said the victim  was standing outside when a car pulled up and two men wearing masks got out of the vehicle.  At least  one of them began shooting at the man, who was wounded twice, authorities said.  The suspects then fled in the vehicle, described as a black Honda Civic.

A motive for the shooting is under investigation. Detailed descriptions of the suspects were not released.
