TRACY —  A single-engine aircraft made a forced landing Friday morning in San Joaquin County near the Alameda County line, but the pilot who was the sole occupant escaped injury, authorities said.

The incident was reported about 9:22 a.m. Friday in the area of Mines and Tarraville Creek roads, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the aircraft was a single-engine Cessna 150  and that only the pilot was onboard.

The National Transportation Safety Board which is the lead investigating agency, said preliminary information indicates “the pilot reported the airplane experienced a complete loss of engine power while enroute and made a forced landing.”

Officials initially said the pilot appeared to have been injured, but they later said the person was not hurt.

According to FAA records, the plane is owned by an Arizona man, and it apparently took off from Buchanan Field in Concord shortly before the crash.

Numerous law enforcement, fire departments and other agencies responded to the scene.

The cause of the forced landing is under investigation.
