OAKLAND — A Piedmont Avenue bank branch was robbed Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The robbery happened about 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Citibank branch, located at 4101 Piedmont Ave.
Police said a man confronted a teller, claimed to have a gun and demanded cash. The man was given an undisclosed amount of cash, left the bank and was last seen walking westbound on 41st Street, police said.
The robber was described to police as a Black man in his 40s, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 220 pounds. He had facial hair and was wearing blue jeans and dark trench coat, police said.
