No one won the Mega Millions lottery total jackpot of $640 million Tuesday night, but players in Oakland and San Jose did win $287,200 apiece, officials said.

The two winners each picked the five winning numbers, which were 19, 22, 31, 37 and 54.  They did not pick the Mega number which was 18; doing so would have allowed them to split the $640 million jackpot.

The tickets were sold at M & A Lakeside Market, 136 14th Street in Oakland, and at the Shell gas station, 1091 E Capitol Expressway in San Jose, state lottery officials said.

Attempts to reach the two businesses were not immediately successful. The two winners were not identified publicly Wednesday.

The winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their prizes.

Mega Millions is played every Tuesday and Friday nights.

Friday night’s jackpot will be at least $720 million, officials said, while the prize for Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing is estimated at $1 billion..
