OAKLAND — A 30-year-old woman who was shot early Friday in North Oakland was found two hours later more than three miles away in West Oakland, authorities said.
How she got to West Oakland has not been determined yet.
The woman was in stable condition at a hospital where she underwent surgery for a gunshot wound to the abdomen, authorities said.
Police said the woman was shot about 12:04 a.m. Friday in the 700 block of 58th Street.
Responding officers found shell casings and blood at the scene and witnesses who said they heard gunshots and a woman scream.
But the woman could not be found.
Just before 2 a.m. the woman was found in the area of 14th and Union streets in West Oakland, almost 3.5 miles from where she had been shot.
Because of her condition at that scene police were not able to talk to the woman there.
Investigators hope to talk to her later at the hospital to try and find out who shot her and why and how she got to the West Oakland location. No arrests have been made.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
