OAKLAND — A 37-year-old man was shot Thursday morning at a homeless camp in East Oakland, authorities said.
The man was in stable condition at a hospital where he was being treated for a leg wound.
The shooting happened about 8:13 a.m. Thursday at a camp in the 3700 block of East 8th Street.
Police did not immediately say if the man shot lived at the camp or was visiting someone there.
He apparently got into a dispute of some kind with another man at the camp and was shot, authorities said. The shooter fled before police got to the camp.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
