OAKLAND — Five people, including a 15-year-old boy, were wounded in shootings Thursday evening in two East Oakland neighborhoods, authorities said.

All of the victims were reported to be in stable condition.

Three of the people, including the boy, were shot about 6;20 p.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of 42nd Avenue near International Boulevard.

Authorities said the boy and two women, one 21 and the other 19, were in a car that was stopped in traffic. Another car pulled alongside them and one of the occupants of that vehicle began yelling at them before shooting at their vehicle, authorities said.

The boy was hit in the leg, the older woman in the shoulder and the other woman in the wrist. The three were able to get out of the vehicle and make it to a nearby parking lot, where police were called. The boy apparently also suffered some additional injuries when he was hit by a vehicle as he was making his way to the lot, authorities said.

The suspects fled before police arrived. A motive for the shooting was under investigation.

Just before 6 p.m., two men were shot in the 100 block of Eldridge Avenue in the Brookfield Village area. One of the men, who is 26, was found at the scene.

The other victim, who is 31, was able to drive to the 1200 block of Seminary Avenue, where police were called.

A motive for the shooting was under investigation.

The pair of multi-victim shootings Thursday came after a double shooting Wednesday that injured a man and woman, as well as a shooting late Tuesday that left four people injured.

For information leading to the arrest of a suspect, police are offering up to $5,000 in each shooting. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers of Oakland at 510-777-8572.
