SACRAMENTO COUNTY– A San Ramon man killed Sunday night in a suspected DUI-related collision that left three children in his vehicle injured was identified Tuesday by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities said the man killed in the crash north of the Antioch Bridge was Aaron James Price, 38. Authorities have not specified Price’s relationship to the three children in the vehicle — two boys in the back seat, ages 4 and 6, and a 15-year-old girl who was a passenger in the front seat.

The three children all remained hospitalized Tuesday.

The collision, which also injured a 70-year-old Rio Vista woman, happened about 10:20 p.m. Sunday on Highway 160 between the Antioch Bridge to the south and West Brannan Island Road to the north. The Rio Vista woman was taken to a hospital with serious injuries and was last listed in stable condition.

The CHP said Price was driving a Mazda south on Highway 160 when he crossed over the double-yellow lines separating traffic and collided with an Audi driven by the Rio Vista woman. The impact caused the Mazda to flip over onto its roof. Price was pronounced dead at the scene.

The CHP said earlier that Price was driving “at a high speed and reckless,” suggesting that he was impaired. He is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, based on accounts from the girl in his car and witnesses, CHP Officer Mark Leavitt said.

It did not appear Price or the boys in the back seat were wearing seat belts, the CHP said.
